Role: Producer and Host, July-Nov 2006 (pre-production July-Sept)
Summary: Reinventing Television was a weekly, live, interactive, web video talk show about innovators in web video production. The show featured:
- Audience interaction via live text chat
- Live call-in
- Guest appearances by new media innovators via web cam

The still above shows me interviewing guest Brian Conley who produces an award-winning documentary video podcast shot by Iraqis in Baghdad. Brian was on the show via his webcam. Here Brian and I discuss a clip which shows an unexploded bomb in a woman’s courtyard. Meanwhile the audience text chat occurs in the bottom section.

This illustration above was made for the episode after Google bought YouTube. I wrote and delivered a monologue for each episode about the most recent developments in media, accompanied by illustrations I drew.

The screenshot above shows some of the guests we had over the course of the show. Here is how one viewer summed up the appeal of the show:
“On Jonny & Peter’s show, “REINVENTING Television”, the guests responded directly to questions from Jonny or from the audience over the text chat or the phone lines. It wasn’t so much like television as it was like bringing people together that weren’t physically in the same location into a coffee-shop or lounge environment where we could discuss common interests…getting answers to OUR OWN QUESTIONS instead of the questions that the corporation told the network to tell the station to tell the show to tell the EP to tell the producer to tell the interviewer to ask! Fantastic!”–Bill Cammack, ReelSolid.TV
